Hyak Halloween 25K
Organized by Rainshadow Running
About This Race
Celebrate Halloween during peak fall colors on the Palouse to Cascades Trail and Annette Lake singletrack. Start the run/hike by traversing the historic 2.25-mile Snoqualmie Tunnel, climb to a serene alpine lake, then finish the day with a second tunnel crossing. The course features about 1,800 feet of elevation gain and generous time cutoffs—perfect for new trail runners, steady hikers, and seasoned adventurers alike. Costumes are encouraged, as long as they're respectful and non-gory (the tunnel itself is spooky enough). This event is co-directed by Tierra Libre Run (a nonprofit) and Rainshadow Running, held on Snoqualmie Tribe ancestral lands. As part of this partnership, we've launched the First Strides Scholarship—a special access initiative offered through Tierra Libre's BIPOC Athlete Fund to welcome first-time BIPOC trail runners. Recipients receive complimentary event entry, trail-ready gear, mentorship from experienced runners, and a pre-event community gathering. On race day, they’ll also find support at a Tierra Libre-hosted aid station along the route. We hope this helps make Hyak accessible, welcoming, and community-centered. We honor the Snoqualmie Tribe’s stewardship and ask all participants to recreate with care.
