Northwest Trail Runs

The Teanaway Trail Run heads into Teanaway Community Forest near Cle Elum, a sunny ponderosa pine valley on Washington's east slope with a distinctly dry-side feel. The courses use a mix of dirt roads and trail through forest, meadow, and sandstone outcrops, with a runnable profile and occasional views toward Mount Stuart. Parking and camping inside the Teanaway Community Forest require a Discover Pass.

The Middle Fork Trail Run starts at the Middle Fork Trailhead outside North Bend and uses the Middle Fork and CCC trail systems for a classic river-valley trail day. Expect lush forest, old-growth character, rugged cliff views, and steady glimpses of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River on courses that stay relatively moderate in climb compared with big mountain races. Parking at the trailhead requires a Northwest Forest Pass.

Fort Ebey Kettles Trail Run is a Whidbey Island weekend of rolling, surprisingly punchy trail running through Fort Ebey State Park. The routes wind through forested ‘kettle’ depressions formed by glacial ice, with frequent twists and turns and a smoother trail surface than many Northwest courses. All distances include a stretch along the scenic bluff-top trail with wide views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca toward the Olympic Mountains — a salty-air, big-sky backdrop that makes this race a local favorite.
